Recently, the 1E class K1 cable used in the China National Nuclear Corporation's Hualong No.1 project, developed by Shangshang Cable, underwent performance testing after the LOCA test under the witness of relevant experts from the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and China National Nuclear Engineering Co., Ltd. The test results all met the requirements of technical specifications. At this point, all identification test items for Class K1 cable of Class 1E of Hualong No.1 have been completed. The completion of this experiment also marks the official success of the research and development of Hualong No.1 1E Class K1 cable.

As the flagship brand of China's nuclear power "going global", Hualong No.1 has reached the advanced level of international third-generation nuclear power technology in terms of safety indicators and technical performance, and has complete independent intellectual property rights. Hualong No.1 1E Class K1 cable requires high technical requirements and is difficult to develop. As the cable design requires a service life of 60 years (50% higher than the second generation), resistance to high dose radiation (170 Mrad, which is twice as high as the second generation's 85 Mrad), and resistance to extreme conditions such as LOCA, there are no readily available K1 class cables at home and abroad that can fully meet the technical specifications during the bidding for the second generation project, and all require research and development. In this context, Shangshang Cable, with strong research and development capabilities, actively undertook the research and development task of K1 cable for the Hualong No.1 project of China General Nuclear Engineering Co., Ltd., and conducted research and development on K1 type cables.

A large amount of research work has been carried out on Shangshang Cable, from the interpretation of specifications, selection of design schemes, compilation of identification outlines, to sample trial production and testing. Hard work pays off for those who have a heart. After nearly two years of hard work, Hualong No.1 1E Class K1 cable has finally been successfully developed! The successful development of this cable not only solves the problem of difficult procurement of K1 class cables for the second generation nuclear power project, but also effectively promotes the construction process of China's third-generation nuclear power Hualong No.1 project!
